Let's see, - Extraordinary Rendition - Torture - Patriot Act - Department of Homeland Security - State Secrets - Real ID - Bailouts - Economic Stimulus - Iraq War - not to mention - automobile checkpoints - random searches - mandatory identification cards - paramilitary police in our streets - endemic disrespect of the Constitution and Bill of Rights of American Citizens at all levels of Government and Law Enforcement - continued National Security Agency and Central Intelligence Agency Domestic Spying and Intelligence Gathering - and Transportation Security Administration Molestation and Sexual Assault . . .

The United States of America is without a doubt the most wonderful country in the world, surpassing all else. However, our government has lost its focus. Command and control has taken over. The "end justifies the means" mentality is pervasive. Statesmen of unquestionable integrity with insight, vision and purpose are needed. The self-serving politicians with agendas are destructive. Much is apparent in this respect in the statement, "What the Congress needs now is a few Madisons, Jeffersons, Pierces, and Crocketts." This is quoted from a 1995 paper, by Stephen Moore: "The Unconstitutional Congress." Read it. It's not about religion and it's not about social equivalence. It is about respect and honor by and for each and every person--and about the legimate function of government.

Love -- of God - of Country - of Others - of Self
"Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.Love never ends."

Big Brother in the form of an increasingly powerful government and in an increasingly powerful private sector will pile the records high with reasons why privacy should give way to national security, to law and order, to efficiency of operation, to scientific advancement and the like.

In Retrospect
Our founding fathers envisioned a federal government that was subserviant to the governments of the states.
The Federal Representatives were elected to protect individual rights
and
the Federal Senators were elected to represent the rights of the states.
Those who trade Freedom for Security have neither. - B. Franklin
